Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Vitamin C Serum is a standout L-ascorbic acid serum
Actives:
- – 15% ascorbic acid + vitamin E
- – neohesperidin (brightening)
- – hyaluronic acid
- – pycnogenol (antioxidant)
Application:
Lightweight, watery serum. Contains alcohol, which causes the serum to absorb momentarily since it evaporates instantly. Doesn’t dry out my already dry skin. No fragrant additives, has a subtle scent of raw ingredients. The bottle is quite comfortable to use.
My thoughts:
This is one of those pure ascorbic acid serums that did not irritate my skin. Judging by the INCI you might say that 15% AA + alcohol is a recipe for disaster, but it does not decrease the hydration levels of my skin, nor does it do any harm to it. It’s efficient, gives a healthy, bright skin effect, and I’d be happy to use it long-term with no issues. You just have to watch out for oxidation (when the solution goes darker) and short PAO of 2 months, so don’t use it sparingly.
For you if: you wish to use an ascorbic acid formula and/or your skin doesn’t agree with heavier lotion/oil vitamin C derivative serums.
Not for you if: you prefer more nourishing oil/lotion antioxidant serums.
