Amouage Beach Hut Man is a cloudy day at the beach.
Notes:
Top – Mint, Galbanum, Orange Blossom
Middle – Ivy, Vetiver, Moss
Base – Woody notes, Myrrh, Patchouli
My thoughts:
Imagine yourself on a beach. Not the tropical kind you’d conjure when smelling Simone Andreoli’s Malibu. Think of an empty beach somewhere on the French coast, spring, windy overcast day. You approach a dilapidated wooden shack, its walls swept by the salty breeze. It’s overgrown with ivy, mint and galbanum, and the floor is covered with moss. This is the fragrance. It’s one of those perfumes that transport you to a different place – the patchouli and moss give it a very grounded undertone, and ivy/mint combo feels fresh, but somehow distant. It’s an entire experience, and I can’t wait to try more from this perfume house. Beautiful. Performance is diabolical in the best way – don’t oversperay, sillage and longevity are incredible.
