Diptyque L’eau Papier is an early spring mood in a bottle

My thoughts:
Well, I have to preface this review with saying that it isn’t a blind buy. This smells wildly different on different skins. My skin makes it go more woody, which is a big plus. It’s made to resemble a scent of fresh paper, and to see the relation of ink&paper reflected in the way we apply perfume to our skin. It’s creamy, elusive and quite different to anything else. For me it’s perfect in warm, early spring, with blooming forsythias and leaf buds ready to open, possibly on rainy days. Well, there’s just nothing like a Diptyque fragrance on a rainy day anyway. This gets me into a specific mood, and I don’t think it’s very versatile as a daily scent. It’s very interesting and won’t be a good fit for everybody, some people are put off by some of the synthetic undertones in the notes, but if you’re a fan of unique fragrances then you might enjoy this quite a bit! Performance is on the softer side.
