Savoné body balms are a fragrant treat.
Actives:
– depend on the fragrance option, range from botanical extracts to niacinamide and inulin. They’re mostly there for antioxidant protection, conditioning and moisturising the skin.
On application:
The balms are silky and a treat to apply. They don’t leave a greasy film on the skin, and you can get dressed very quickly after applying them. They moisturise and soften the skin. The fragrances are potent and last quite a while. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen on the sun-exposed areas!
My thoughts:
I’ve had a few samples of all the fragrances to get to know the texture & scents. I think that all of them are good, because the compositions are well-crafted, but I have my faves.
Jasmin des Indes – beautiful, realistic jasmine, not suffocating, not animal. Pairs very well with citrus and woody fragrances, gives them a depth. I found it the best for me personally, and got the most compliments while wearing it.
Rose de Grasse – rose body balms aren’t usually the easiest to wear, because they might lean too powdery or artificial. This is nothing of the sort, the fragrance is very smooth and if you happen to enjoy wearing rose fragrances then this is for you.
Citron de Sicile – musky citrus, summer staple. I love that this isn’t just one citrus, it’s lemon and citron, which gives it some depth and helps it avoid being too… air freshener-y. Great duo with leather or citrus perfume.
Fleurs d’Orient – this fragrance isn’t bad by any means, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the others. I would expect something darker, bolder, woody, maybe with some oud and spices. This goes well with such fragrances, though. I’d like to see a heavier scent in the line, though!
For you, if: you like fragrant body balms, and especially if you like to layer a balm under your perfume. Great gift idea, too!
Not for you, if: you use fragrance-free body products out of preference or your body skin is sensitive.
