Allies Of Skin Molecular Silk is a nourishing, effective cleansing product.
Actives:
- silk proteins, hydrolysed silk
- vitamin C (ethylated derivative)
- astaxanthin (antioxidant)
- botanical extracts, ferments (antioxidants, soothing)
On application:
Thick, soft gel that can be applied on dry or damp skin. After adding water it foams up nicely and washes off sunscreen well, rinses off easily. Fragrance free. Can be left for 1-2 minutes on the face as a flash mask (love that in the morning!). Suitable as a first and second cleanse in a double cleanse routine, and if you are not wearing makeup it can work as a single cleanse.
My thoughts:
The product has been recently reformulated. It’s more nourishing (but still doesn’t leave any residue after washing it off) and more silky. The raw material scent, very intense in the last version, is not as pronounced here. It’s also less foaming, which makes it less efficient at removing makeup, as the last version could easily remove light makeup/BB creams. I still think it’s a great product, but there’s some changes with every reformulation.
For you, if: you’re looking for an effective cleanser without a detectable oily phase.
Not for you, if: you prefer oil-based, non-foaming products for makeup removal/first cleanse.
