Dermalogica Milkfoliant is an ultra-gentle creamy powder exfoliant.
Actives:
- cellulose and plant-based powders – gentle mechanical exfoliation
- ferments and botanical extracts – soothing, antioxidants
- oat proteins, inulin – prebiotic, skin conditioning
- papain – gentle enzymatic exfoliation
On application:
After dispensing the powder (1/2 tsp) and adding a bit of water to your hand it lathers and forms a creamy foam, which goes on your face. Massage the face like you would with a cleanser (I’ve used it in place of a morning/second cleanser) and rinse. The user experience is very pleasant, it’s easy to use and rinse, no problems here. Doesn’t dry out the skin. Gently fragranced.
My thoughts:
This is great for anybody that needs a gentle exfoliant for sensitive skin, especially if it can’t tolerate acids or leave-on products. You can easily tailor the exfoliation to your needs – gentle massage will barely exfoliate anything, and it’s hard to overdo it even with a deeper massage. I like the versatility. Physical exfoliation can be a game changer with milia. It’s also incredible before face shaving, preventing ingrown hair. One bottle lasts forever, even the smaller one. You can use it on the body before self-tanning (but i’d take the larger bottle for that)
For you, if: you’re looking a gentle exfoliant without any acids.
Not for you, if: you need a more potent exfoliant.
