EqualRXN Purslane Prebiotic Moisturiser is an intensely nourishing gel barrier cream.
Actives:
- botanical extracts (i.e. purslane with its CPOP – a soothing-antioxidant polysaccharide)
- urea, lactic acid, arginine, ceramides (barrier support)
- prebiotics
On application:
Fragrance-free, thick gel cream. It’s emollient and occlusive, but after applying it you can feel the water break effect and it goes on like water. Very interesting effect. This causes it to feel much more lightweight the more you massage it into the skin. It has a wet finish that dries down after a moment. It’s immediately soothing and this lasts for a while.
My thoughts:
For about 24$ you can’t go wrong with it! Especially since I don’t know anything similar, which is quite standard for EqualRXN – their formulas are creative, they have a vision, stick to it and the results speak for themselves. The water-in-silicone emulsion (instead of a water-in-oil one) means that it’s more lightweight, gel-like, than similarly weighted creams utilising oil emulsions. It’s also a decent primer (but use a lightweight sunscreen on top of it if you plan to use it in the AM). Silicones aren’t something you should be afraid of – they soften the skin well and are quite indifferent to our skin. If your skin is dry and flaky – this is for you. Great with retinoids. This is one of those small brands to support!
For you, if: you’re looking for a nourishing cream that’s pretty lightweight and won’t weigh down the skin.
Not for you, if: you’re not in the market for an intensely nourishing cream.
