L’Oreal Revitalift Clinical 12% is an inexpensive, effective antioxidant serum.
Actives:
- 12% ascorbic acid („pure” vitamin C)
- adenosine
- neurosensin (soothing)
- hyaluronic acid
- salicylic acid, 0,5%
On application:
Pretty lightweight serum with a classic L’Oreal base known from their Midnight Serum – a watery-silicone fast absorbing lotion that instantly softens the skin. It’s somewhere between water- and silicone based ascorbic acid serums. It’s also intensely fragranced. The product likes to dry down near the cap, so I’d advise to wipe the inside of it with a tissue.
My thoughts:
The serum visibly improves the skin lustre and glow, hydrates well. It also theoretically has a better tolerance than other ascorbic serums thanks to its higher pH. Over the month of use it oxidised (I haven’t been keeping it in the fridge or something, just on my shelf), but it didn’t have to be thrown out. Remember – dark yellow is alright, we throw ascorbic acid serums out when they turn orange.
For you, if: you’re looking for a drugstore ascorbic acid serum.
Not for you, if: you don’t like slippery, silicone vitamin C formulas.
Buy it at your local drugstore.
