Lancome Genifique Nuit is a lightweight, but deeply soothing barrier face cream.
Actives:
- Bifida ferment and other prebiotic fractions
- ceramides, including an interesting ceramide-salicylic acid combo ingredient that may help with photoaging
- hyaluronic acid
- LHA acid – light decongesting
On application:
Creamy mid-weight gel with a subtle (for Lancome standards) fragrance. I like it in the PM, but it can be very well used in the AM too. For a barrier cream it’s pretty lightweight while still being regenerating. It’s not very occlusive, so if you don’t like occlusives this will be great.
My thoughts:
I like Lancome for being effective and a sensory joy to use. The Génifique line additionally is visibly soothing, regenerating and is led by an interesting, microbiome-forward barrier care approach – I love the serum, and the cream isn’t far behind. This perfected formula that uses synergic ingredients has been proven to decrease irritation and improve barrier function in objective equipment stead. This product is right on the intersection of lightweight and nourishing for most skin types, including more oily. Very nice on top of a retinoid.
For you, if: you’re looking for a lightweight barrier-supporting cream.
Not for you, if: you’re looking for a more substantial, lipid-rich barrier cream.
