NIOD Modulating Glucosides is a high-tech soothing serum.
Actives:
- a whole lot of soothing ingredients and barrier supporting molecules, including but not limited to: botanical extracts and glucosides, antioxidants (like superoxide dismutase), lipids, ceramides, amino acids… you can read more about the ingredients on the NIOD website linked below.
On application:
Lotion, yellowish serum. After applying it it’s a bit more wet than greasy. Quick to absorb, but not undetectable – you can feel it on your skin. Fragrance free. Layers well with other products.
My thoughts:
This serum is made to alleviate symptoms of irritation and decrease visibility of redness. It does that. It’s a functional product that can deal with post-shaving irritation, after-treatment irritation, whenever your barrier feels off. Recently there’s been a popular, viral pink serum by The Ordinary, which is a younger sibling of Modulating Glucosides (NIOD is a premium sister brand of The Ordinary) and I would pick MG over that one, because the formula is a bit more robust.
For you, if: you need barrier support and your skin suffers from irritation.
Not for you, if: your skin isn’t easily irritated.
