Charlotte Tilbury Magic Water Cream is a fabulously hydrating gel cream.
Actives:
- humectants – glycerin, hyaluronic acid, mannitol, beta-glucan
- peptides

- glucoside that activates aquaporins (deep hydration)
On application:
Silky, creamy gel. Leaves a wet finish on the skin that looks healthy and not greasy. Fragrance-free. It’s great under makeup. Good for AM and PM, I’ve used it in the AM. The gel formula doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Texture is perfected. Packaging is convenient and it makes a good impression. It’s also refillable.
My thoughts:
I like Charlotte Tilbury because as a brand it’s not too serious. Charlotte posing as a mermaid for the launch video, spilling the secrets of mermaid-core glow? I love the camp of it all, especially in the era of overly clinical, borderline boring skincare. The promises of this cream – long-term hydration, pleasant texture, decreasing the signs of dehydration, advanced technology of deep, lasting hydration… Thankfully these promises are met, and achieving adequate hydration levels can totally change the appearance of skin that’s been in the state of dehydration. During a Zoom call with Charlotte I had the pleasure of attending she stressed the importance of a good cosmetic chemist team in skincare – and that means that the brand knows what they’re doing. The flashy marketing may cast a shadow over that, but the science is there. Exceeded expectations!
For you, if: your skin doesn’t like heavier creams, but it’s dehydrated and/or dry, or you wish to improve hydration.
