NIOD Flavanone Mud is an advanced clay mask
Actives:
- clays (kaolin, Fuller’s earth)
- Potassium Azeloyl Diglicynate, glucosyl hesperidin – decongesting, tone evening
- antioxidants – naringenin, resveratrol
- soothing – Alteromonas ferment, bisabolol
On application:
The mask is a bit intense and can warm + sting a bit. Not for most sensitive skins. It smells like clay. The wash-off part can be tricky because you can get your hands, your bathroom and the floor dirty. I found what works best is to get the first layer off holding your hands wet with warm water to your face, then rinsing the rest and gently patting with a wet, warm towel or paper towel.
My thoughts:
NIOD do innovative formulas that aren’t that easy to dupe, and this isn’t any different – the mask is made to give long term results even after washing it off. I could feel my skin was deeply cleansed, and the dryness was minimal. I loved it in the summer when my skin was especially susceptible to buildups of congestion. The addition of antioxidants and other synergic ingredients that amplify the clay does the job.
It’s really not worth it to go with the bigger tube, because the jar will last you ages (about 20 applications, and once weekly is a great starting point). I barely managed to use up the jar before the expiry date.
For you, if: you like clay masks and need some decongesting in your routine.
Not for you, if: you don’t like clay masks or you have sensitive skin.
