Lancome Absolue Serum is a luxury serum with interesting ingredients
Actives:
- Pro-xylane
- ferments and botanical extracts
- lactic acid
- adenosine
- light diffusing pigments
On application:
No notes – the texture is divine, lightweight, buttery. Smells of fresh roses. However, the packaging is a mixed bag. It’s very impressive, heavy, luxe, but it is bulky at the same time. It’s refillable – while the refill itself is sleek and small, the original component is very large.
My thoughts:
Sometimes expensive serums don’t really do much and that’s a problem – I believe it was Spider-man’s grandpa who said something along the lines of „with great price comes great responsibility”. This serum works in two ways – there’s a satisfying short term improvement with the pigments that just make the skin look a bit more alive, and there’s long term improvement – the skin appears smoother, more uniform, and nourished (the brand claims tightening, but I didn’t see that. I am young though). I was interested in it due to Pro-xylane, an interesting ingredient that boost the skin’s GAG and NMF production – a great support of your well-aging routine. I used it in the morning over an ascorbic acid serum. It could last a bit longer, but it wasn’t bad.
For you, if: you have your basic skin needs covered, and you don’t mind the price.
Not for you, if: you do mind the price.
