Charlotte Tilbury Magic Hydration Revival Cleanser is pleasant, hydrating and deeply cleansing.
Actives:
- humectants – urea, sugars, PCA, trehalose, hyaluronic acid, glycerin
- hydrolysed cottonseed proteins (peptides)
- soothing – allantoin, aloe
- botanical extracts
On application:
Cleansing cream that turns into a foam when applied to a dry face, and turns into a milk when water is introduced. Gently fragranced with a luxe, powdery scent of expensive skincare. The tube is convenient. I like it for morning and evening cleanses – it can take off non-water resistant sunscreen and light makeup with a single cleanse, while a double cleanse with it will take off more makeup and water resistant sunscreen.
My thoughts:
Drawbacks first – this isn’t a product for irritated, sensitised skin. When I used it after shaving with a razor in the morning it immediately started stinging. It didn’t make my skin more irritated though – when I washed it off the feeling subsided and my face wasn’t red.
There is much more good about this product though – first of all the texture is DIVINE, luxurious and a treat and a half. The texture-switching is satisfying and makes the cleansing experience exciting. It also prides itself on its hydrating and lipid mantle-preserving technology, and I could feel that my skin was in fact better off after cleansing than before. I wouldn’t expect a focus on technology from Charlotte Tilbury, the mother of camp, but I’m pleasantly surprised. I’m sure I’ll revisit it!
For you, if: you’re looking for one versatile cleanser that will take care of all your cleansing needs in every scenario.
Not for you, if: you have a frequently irritated face.
