Is Clinical Cleansing Complex is a deeply cleansing gel.
Actives:
- botanical extracts as sources of exfoliating acids
- centella asiatica isolates, green tea extract
- phospholipids
On application:
Slippery gel, gently foaming after adding water. No fragrant additives. Pretty easy to wash off. I’ve used it mainly for the 2nd step of my double cleanse or before shaving to prep the facial hair with something exfoliating. It won’t remove heavier makeup on its own. It can also be used as a flash mask for a minute. Unfortunately, I didn’t love the packaging, my flip top leaked. I would prefer a pump.
My thoughts:
While this isn’t a daily cleanser for me (I’ve used it 2-4 times per week, as it’s possible to overdo its exfoliation despite low percentages of acids), I found it very good for decongesting and refreshing the skin, as well as giving a bit of a soothing action on forming blemishes. I understand why it’s so hyped, because it does what it says it will, and it does it pretty elegantly for an exfoliating cleanser.
Tip: if you’d like to combine acids and retinoids in one routine – try to use this as your second cleanse, and then apply your retinoid. It won’t be as irritating as having two leave-on products on your skin.
For you, if: you’re looking for an elegant, exfoliating, refreshing cleanser.
