Lancome Renergie HPN-300 Cream

Lancome Renergie HPN-300 is one of my favourite versatile moisturisers.

Renergie HPN-300 is one of my favourite versatile moisturisers.

Actives:

  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Niacinamide
  • Peptides (extracted from linseed, pea and lupine using biotech)
  • LHA (gently decongesting)
  • Adenosine (skin soothing)

On application:

It’s a lightweight, silky and glossy cream with a hint of a gel cream texture. Smells like white flowers. Spreadability, absorption and textural elegance are spectacular – usual for Lancome. It has a natural satin finish. The skin feels instantly softened. For all skin types. The packaging is luxe, and acts as an easy to use refill. It’s actually well implemented here, as I suspect a lot of users will be happy to come back and repurchase the refills.

My thoughts:

I always say that a product can’t be judged just based off of the INCI list, and this is a prime example of that. You might think that you get the same product that you can find at a drugstore for a fraction of the price. That’s not the case. This product is based on a simple, synergic premise that’s been mastered through over 240 formula trials and with a focus group of 770 women. Even the clinicals are great – the study groups had over 80 participants of all prototypes (that’s a large group by skincare standards). The results it gives after 8 weeks? Appearance of lifted face contour (by 27%), diminished winkle visibility (by 21%), firmness (by 38%) and a more evenly presenting skin tone (by 22%), with first significant results measured by the devices after only one week. They even have histopathological studies on reconstructed skin models which is wild. The best thing? After using it for a couple of weeks I can see that my fine lines have improved! It’s nourishing while being weightless on the skin throughout the day. Power couple: with the Renergie Triple Serum in a morning routine. Thank me later.

What do I mean by a versatile moisturiser? It can be used in any routine – morning, evening, with retinoids, with acids, vitamin C, anything, anytime. The cream is also very smooth on the skin and made to act as a makeup primer with a low pilling potential. I love that it is very effective without sacrificing the sensorial aspect.

The 300 peptides claim might be a bit confusing, as the peptides themselves aren’t listed in the INCI, but it’s true – Lancome have sequenced all of the peptides that are present in the linseed, pea and lupine extracts (those are in the INCI), and there are over 300 of them. The extracts are treated to be as peptide-forward as possible. It’s a different approach to what we’re used to, but I love the biotech used here. I really appreciate what they’re doing with their recent launches, and my skin does as well.

For you, if: you need a moisturiser that just works in every scenario. Especially for you if you already have and love the Renergie Triple Serum.

Not for you, if: you need a thicker, more occlusive moisturiser.
