Korres Black Sugar is a sweet, burnt gourmand.
Notes:
- Top – Caramel, Heliotrope, Lily, Oriental notes
- Middle – Brown sugar, Brazilian rosewood, Rose
- Base – Vanilla bean, Tonka bean, Amber
My thoughts:
It’s definitely sweet, but with something burnt thrown in. Some describe this note as hairspray, I’d say it’s more burnt sugar. It’s definitely pungent at application, later it evolves into a vanilla-rosy-floral combo. I’d say this is deceptively difficult to successfully pull off. I love to enrich other gourmands with it (YSL Black Opium, Lancome Idole Nectar), or layer with leather (Zara Leather Jardin) or oud fragrances – those make it pop. Longevity and sillage are low on the skin, but on the hair it lasts for a couple hours and projects better.
