EqualRXN Turmeric Hesperidin Fading Serum helps with antioxidation and tone evening.
Actives:
- 5% niacinamide
- 1% n-acetyl glucosamine
- 1% glucosyl hesperidin, arbutyn, licorice extract, kojic acid (tone evening)
- trehalose, arginine, extensin, glycerin (hydration)
- botanical extracts (antioxidant, soothing)
- resveratrol, glutathione (antioxidants)
On application:
Gel-like, lightweight and pretty runny serum that leaves a lightly tacky finish on the skin (it’s the humectants). Absorbs quickly. Doesn’t contain fragrant additives, the gentle aroma is from raw ingredients. Convenient packaging.
My thoughts:
EqualRXN always manage to come up with interesting formulas that come at a decent price point (this is 30$, so quite manageable), and pretty much can’t be duped – which earned my massive respect. This product has been developed as a gentle, hydrating, antioxidant, tone-evening multitasker without hyaluronic acid or vitamin C – it’s been accomplished. This has ingredients that work on many molecular checkpoints of hyperpigmentation – inhibiting melanin synthesis, inhibiting its transport, and decreasing oxidative stress which can help with decreasing inflammation. Just look at the INCI – it’s absolutely stacked. This is a very nice approach that makes sense especially when tackling hyperpigmentation. Also very rare coming from a small brand! This can be used in every scenario – with acids, retinoids, AM, PM…
I don’t have much discolouration (I explain it in my Eucerin Anti Pigment review), so I didn’t expect it to have a wow effect on the tone of my skin, I tested it more as a hydrating antioxidant product.
The only thing I would pick on is the longevity – I managed to empty it in 2,5 weeks, and while I’m very quick to run through my products, this was comparable to 15 ml of my current vitamin serum, which last me about the same time. Yes, you can stretch it to 4 weeks (I’m very generous with the amount I apply, probably overly), but it’s something I have to mention.
For you, if: you need a multitasking serum, especially for AM, especially without vitamin C and/or hyaluronic acid.
Not for you, if: well, I have to say it would be a good fit for many people since it does so many things without much irritation to pay for it.
