Basic Lab’s cleansing gel is a clarifying body & face gel.
Actives:
- 0,5% salicylic acid
- lactic acid
- niacinamide
- inulin (prebiotic)
- allantoin, panthenol (soothing)
On application:
A slippery gel, low-foaming and chlorine-scented formula classic for Basiclab’s cleansers. It isn’t the most foaming of cleansers, but it does leave the skin cleansed and washes off easily enough. It can also be used on the face (not too frequently though!)
My thoughts:
I just have to compare it to Cerave’s blemish cleanser – that one has 2% of salicylic acid and is quite stronger (but more drying), foams better, smooths more, and I liked it quite a bit better than this Basiclab. If I were to repurchase – I would go for Cerave. Basiclab’s texture is a bit too slippery to be a pleasant experience. I like it, I’ve used it after gym sessions to decongest the body, but the alternative is better. I think it might be better on the face than on the body because it’s not very irritating.
For you, if: you experience dryness after other acid based cleansers and/or are looking for a gently salicylic face cleanser.
Not for you, if: you’re looking for an intense body exfoliator and/or already like Cerave’s blemish cleanser.
